The Souvlaki: A Fast-Growing Greek Street Food Franchise Expanding Across the UK

From its first franchise opening in Handforth, Manchester in December 2022, The Souvlaki has rapidly expanded its footprint across the UK, proving the strong demand for authentic Greek street food. Within the same month, a second franchise opened in Derby, followed by a third in Margate in June 2023 and a fourth in Didsbury, Manchester in July 2023. The journey continued with the launch of our East Sheen store in September 2024, while Derby was strategically relocated later that year to a historic site under new management. Most recently, in September 2024, The Souvlaki proudly opened its sixth franchise in Nottingham city centre — a flagship-style store spanning two levels, introducing new signage, digital screens, and self-service kiosks, setting the standard for our next generation of locations. Alongside these milestones, the brand earned national recognition by winning the Just Eat Award for Best Takeaway in Greater London 2022.
