OUR STORY

The Souvlaki started as a street food stall in summer 2015 at Kingston Ancient Market and became very popular and quickly winning the hearts of Londoners.

We opened our first Restaurant in Kingston Upon Thames in 2018, spending many years perfecting our recipes, policies and procedures.

Followed by great success in 2022 we opened 4 new locations and today we are

expanding our business through the nation.

In 2023 we have been crowned as The Best takeaway in Greater London at

JustEat Restaurant Awards.

We love cooking and people love eating our food as we offer Consistency in every single meal.

We import and use Traditional natural Greek products like the Cretan Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Feta Cheese, Olives, Original Cypriot Halloumi, Greek Pita Bread and Homemade Sauces.

Founders

Valentinos Varelas was born and raised in Athens. Is the Head Chef of the Restaurant and passionate about the quality of food.

He brings 15 years of experience in the Food industry and 10 years as a restaurant owner. Valentinos supervises and trains the staff making sure that the highest quality is achieved.

Sandy Tsagdi in her career has worked for more than 10 years in the Education Sector, her latest job was as Headteacher in one of the top 10 Schools in London. Food Industrty and restaurants are a challenge that accepted. She is providing strategic tools and Health and Safety advice to The Souvlaki.

SOUVLAKI

Souvlaki (Greek: σουβλάκι), plural souvlakia, is a popular Greek fast food consisting of small pieces of meat and sometimes vegetables grilled on a skewer.

It is usually served with grilled bread, or in a Greek pita wrap with garnishes and sauces, or on a dinner plate, often with fried potatoes.

The meat usually used in Greece and Cyprus is pork, although chicken, beef, and lamb may also be used.
